:: NO ONE DIET WORKS FOR EVERYONE: YOU ARE UNIQUE!
The concept of bio-chemical individuality is each person has unique nutritional needs. So, when the experts say, “Dairy builds your bones,” or "Don’t eat fat,” that’s too general (and old science). One person’s food can be another person’s poison. Diets will never work in the long run because they leave out the critical component—YOU. Diets tell you to forget “the inner you” and use their methods instead—this is the outside-in approach. This never works. In my programs, I consider your age, health, activity level, metabolic type, career, relationships, nationality, personal preferences and spirituality to determine all your nourishment needs and we decide together what will feed you and your life best.

We are not only fed by food but we are fed by the other components of our lives—healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity and a spiritual practice. These are all essential forms of nourishment. I call these “primary foods” and when they are balanced and flourishing in your life, the food on your plate becomes secondary. Food is the doorway to feeding the rest of your life. When your body is well nourished you start taking the steps to nourishing your life, your dreams, your passion. It is inevitable.

The Integrative Nutrition pyramid depicts a balanced approach to nutrition
and nourishment—high-quality vegetables and fruits, unprocessed carbohydrates,
quality protein, healthy fats and water; less dairy, sugar and artificial
foods. The pyramid is surrounded with the “primary food” circle, the parts
of life that satisfy our hunger for living and create balance in our lives:
relationship, career, physical activity and spirituality.
We cannot live well unless we have joy and support from these in our life.
